**Patriot Scholar Application Deadline EXTENDED
NEW DEADLINE: Applications must be postmarked by JUNE 18, 2010**

The Patriot Scholar program is for graduating Massachusetts high-school seniors and college freshmen with a parent currently activated overseas in the Massachusetts National Guard or Reserve components.

The Military Friends Foundation will provide a $1000 scholarship in each of the Commonwealth’s Congressional Districts to an eligible graduating senior.  These scholarships will be awarded based on merit as determined by the Board of Directors and with consultation from the Honorary Scholarship Committee.

The 2010 application is now available on-line.  Eligible students must have a financial need and provide proof of a FAFSA application when applying.

*For children of Massachusetts National Guard Members, who reside Massachusetts, and children of Reservists, who reside in Massachusetts, and have a parent currently activated overseas under Title 10 or 32.  Active service in the armed forces shall not include active duty for training in the Army or Air National Guard or active duty for training as a Reservist in the armed forces of the United States.
