Today I was able to discuss the medical condition of our one year old son. He was born with a heart defect and still at 18 months old is facing another cardiac procedure. This is very stressful for both my husband and myself. Having him deployed overseas is one thing, having a medical issue with your child is another. I am the lucky one, I get to hug and kiss our son everyday, he only gets to see him via Skype and on the phone. So with all of the medical bills, the soon to be replacement of our furnace, I was able to reach out to the Military Friends Foundation, I felt very comfortable talking and felt reassured that I will be taken care of in any way that they can help us.
