Military Friends “Back To School Bash” To Recognize Military Families
LYNN/August 2017 – As local students prepare to head back to school, military families will receive an extra “thank you” at the Annual “Back-To-School Bash” at Lynn Housing Authority and Neighborhood Development (LHAND). The event, hosted by Military Friends Foundation and the LHAND Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program, will provide free school supplies, ice cream social, pizza party and more to veterans and military families with school aged children. Children will get a special visit from Wally The Green Monster at noon.
“LHAND is pleased to work with the Military Friends Foundation for the second year in a row to host this event for veterans and military families,” said Charles Gaeta, Executive Director, LHAND.
The Lynn Department of Veterans’ Services, the Bedford VA and the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Service will also be in attendance to assist veterans with benefits and services.
The “Back To School Bash” will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 11AM-2PM at LHAND, 10 Church Street, Lynn. All attending must bring proof of military service such as a DD214/VA Card/Military ID/Dependent ID. No RSVP is required to attend the event.
